• Results – June 2015

    Another great set of results this month.  Well done to all thetrilife.com athletes.

    mikeredshawnewsletterStephen Branagan at the Lough Cutra Castle posted an excellent 5:22:52 placing 47th overall.  On 14 June Stephen entered last minute into the Blessington Triathlon which included a tough olympic sea swim posting 2:25:57, baby on the way now if not here already, good luck!

    Jim Prendergast would have easily gone under 2:20:00 at the Eton Dorney Triathlon if he hadn’t completed an extra bike lap! He still finished in a very respectable 2:30:39.

    Steve Rice after coming back from injury, raced the Bedford Sprint in 1:23:32 and the Dambuster a week later in a fine time of 2:51:21. Good work Steve more to come!

    Kevin Watson raced at the Firmus Energy city of Derry Triathlon in 1:20:38 and placed 123rd in a large number of entrants.  A week later on 20 June Kevin raced very well at the Causeway coast triathlon finishing strong and high up the field again in 74 place in a time of 2:33:20.

    lizscottnewsletter1James Davies just focussing on running at the moment continues to collect pb’s.  At the Sandwich 10k he smashed his target of sub 40 minutes with a 38.59. Plenty more to come.

    Jude Hagger had a great race to podium finish at the Hyde Park Triathlon finishing 3rd in AG in 2:32:00.  At the Deva Triathlon Jude qualified for the standard distance Age Group World Championships in a time of 2:33:00. Both are great confidence boosters for the forth coming European Championships in Geneva.

    Barney Gray at the Nottingham Sprint Triathlon gave a strong performance over a shorter than usual distance, 15th in AG 1:04:00

    Also at the Nottingham Sprint Nicola Wignall qualified for Age Group World Championships in a very tough race finishing in 1:17:00.  Great job!

    Over the longer distance, Beate Vogt produced a personal best at the Outlaw Middle Distance Triathlon claiming 3rd in AG in 6:35:11.

    Darren Matthews, in preparation for a priority 70.3 later in the year, recorded 2:18:00 at the Guildford 50 mile TT in very challenging conditions.  At the Cotswolds 113 despite the race not going to plan Darren dug deep to finish in 4:43:00.

    Some very well deserved podium finishes, pb’s and World Age Group Qualifiers.

    andreawhitcombenewsletterGordon Staines in his first ever Sprint Triathlon and encountering some mechanical problems, clocked a fine 1:35:26 at Blenheim.

    Steve Tassell produced a blistering performance 2:33:08 at the infamous Windsor Triathlon which puts him on track for the Marlow Triathlon later in the year.

    Niven Robinson recorded a 2:27:03 to finish 69th in his AG at the Zug Olympic Distance Triathlon, a cracking performance in his first outing over this distance.

    deanhughesnewsletterJo Gundle battled through a tough swim at IM 70.3 Staffs and worked her way through the field to claim 4th fastest bike and 2nd fastest run split in her AG. This qualified Jo for the World Championships in Austria. A great performance Jo.

    John Borton, who has also qualified for Austria, climbed his way through the Santani Stelvio GranFondo in just over 7 hours with 14000ft of climbing over 90miles!

    Duncan Haynes enjoyed competing in a shorter than his usual distance event in the Salty Sea Dog sprint Triathlon finishing a very respectable 18th overall.
