First and foremost you should be comfortable on your bike.
Too much attention may be paid to achieving an aerodynamic position, but for a triathlete this will not be worth anything, if you cannot subsequently run at your best. Attention should be given to the basic contact points (saddle, pedals, handlebars) and the ability of the rider to sustain high power output for a prolonged period.
Duncan Scott is a qualified Retul fitter and offers a range of services for both triathletes and cyclists, designed to optimise your bike fit either on your current bike or with a view to purchasing a new one.
