IM Arizona

Huge congratulations to Alex Fairman on winning IM Arizona 18-24 men’s age group Alex also qualified for 2010 World IM Championships in Kona, Hawaii. His winning time of 9:36:05 was achieved by a 1:00:52 swim (8th) and the fastest bike run splits of 5:01:41and 3:28:31 respectively. Coached by Richard Jones

BTF Paratriathlete of the year award

Florida 70.3 World Championships - Well done Bethan!

A very big congratulations to Bethan Fowler who smashed her pb by over 1 hour in the recent 70.3 World Championships, Florida.  Beth crossed the line in 4hrs 46min to finish top Brit and place 27th in the World (F30-34 Category).

Dambuster Duathlon

 

Another great performance by Michelle Bletso.  Yet another personal best achieved at the challenging Dambuster Duathlon. 6minutes quicker than in the spring Ballbuster Duathlon and 12 minutes quicker than in 2008. Michelle finished 5 woman overall.  What a fantastic way to finish the season.

Perth Long Distance Triathlon World Championships

Congratulations to Glenda Goscomb and Jane Wiley for finishing 17th and 10th in their age group at the 2009 Perth Long Distance Triathlon World Championships on Sunday.

Both endured very hot and windy conditions coming home in excellent times of 6:08 and 5:36, well done.

A well earned rest is in store before starting training for IM Roth!

Well done to thetrilife.com athletes and coaches! racing at Hever Castle Triathlon last weekend.  Good performances by Mark Weaver in the Henry VIII and by Robin Barnes in the Anne Boleyn, Robins first triathlon for a while.  And of course a good job by coach Mike Redshaw - second fastest swim of the day!

Elinor Thorogood qualifies GB for 2010 Youth Olympic Games

Congratulations to race team athlete Elinor who came 3rd this weekend at the San Javier Triathlon in Spain which was a Junior European Cup race. This superb result qualifies the GB team for the first ever Youth Olympic Games which will take place in Singapore next year.

Michelle Bletso 2009 World Standard Distance Championships

Congratulations to Michelle Bletso who achieved a PB of 2.23hrs at the World Champs. Michelle also came 29th out of 77 (age group) and 206 out of 629 females.

There were warm conditions for all competitors on race DAY. Craig had a good swim and great bike, finishing with a fantastic time of 12hrs 36minutes

World Championships - Gold Coast

A big congratulations to Clare Cunningham, Becky Glover and Clare Scott for great performances in the World Championships on 12/13th September.  

 

Clare Cunningham is the new World Champion in the Paratriathlon TRI-4 category.  Clare finished in a time of 2.45.58 for the Olympic distance, over 20mins ahead of second place!

Becky Glover was the first Brit home in the 25-29 age group, with of time of 2.11.00 to finish in a superb 7th place.

Clare Scott also had a fantastic race over the Sprint distance in the 35-39 age group, finishing 19th in a time of 1.16.07.

Antwerp 70.3

Sean Feeney set out at the beginning of the season with the goal of finishing his first ever 70.3 at Antwerp in under 6 hours.  Sean not only beat this time - he thrashed it.  He posted a 5 hours 28 minutes.  He added afterwards "I was happiest with the swim leg. I did 1,500mtrs in an Olympic distance in Dorney in 32 mins a few months before and then the 1,900 at Antwerp in 34 mins - nice!

Following a good race at Windsor two months prior Ashley Russell took a further 6 minutes off his time at London Triathlon coming 5th in the 30 - 34 age group with 2 hours 11 minutes.  Coached by Ralph Hydes

Great times in Estonia!

Last weekend a group of theTriLife.com coached athletes, coaches and friends headed off to Estonia for the Estonian 70.3 race being held in its new venue of the Puhajarve Spa Resort in the town of Otepaa in the south of the country.

The location was perfect, the race really well organised and although the course was tougher than it looked on paper we all had a great time!

Elite results from London

Great racing this weekend at London from our elite athletes.  Congratulations to Marc Jenkins continuing his return to racing with a 12th place finish in a tough field and well done to James Gibson.  James was 8th out of the swim and finished in the top half of the field, still gaining valuable experience racing at this level.   Eli Thorogood had a strong race in the elite junior field that included Hollie Avil and finished 7th - well done Eli!
